Even though it’s only been available for a little under two weeks, the Samsung Gear VR virtual reality headset is already sold out on both Amazon’s and BestBuy’s websites

And as if that weren’t enough to make you want the device even more, Samsung has also released a new commercial for the Gear VR that makes virtual reality seem less like the hobby of geeks and more like a step into next-gen mainstream entertainment.

Using the tag line “virtual reality just got real,” the commercial shows off the Gear VR’s ability to display everything from games, to movies, to immersive video. Sure, there are still some who will be skeptical of the fairly new product category, but Samsung’s spot for the $99 device is likely to draw in even the mildly VR curious. Read more…
