Now that Australia’s former prime minister can’t give advice in Australia, he is giving advice to the world.

On Wednesday, the conservative former leader Tony Abbott delivered the annual Margaret Thatcher Lecture in London and advised Europe, who is struggling with an influx of refugees from Syria, to “stop the boats.” It is the same hard-line position he was known for during his short reign as prime minister of Australia.
